    Committed

    NBC's "The Sing-Off" Season 2 Winner

Inspirational a cappella singing group Committed is comprised of five educated, young, men who won Season 2 of the NBC hit musical competition The Sing-Off that reached 9 million viewers weekly. The singing group released their self-titled debut album Committed on Epic Records which since has peaked at #3 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart, a Top 30 position on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and an impressive debut on the US Billboard 200 chart. Their album garnered them a 2012 NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding New Artist of the Year.

The group -- Therry Thomas, Dennis Baptiste, Geston Pierre, Robert Pressley and Maurice Staple released their 6-track Christmas EP on November 25, 2014 which peaked at #35 on the iTunes Top 200 Holiday Albums Chart and an impressive Top 50 debut on Billboard’s Top 200 R&B Albums Chart. The EP features holiday favorites "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late),” "I'll Be Home for Christmas,” "Do You Hear What I Hear,” "Nativity Medley,” "Sleigh Ride," and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." The group began singing together in 2003, inspired by another a cappella group that originated at Forest Lake Academy and solidified their sound while at school at Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL. Committed has grown to be a much sought after a cappella group performing and appearing on various top-tiernational stages such as The NAACP Image Awards, ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, NBC’s ‘The Today Show’, The GMA Dove Awards, ‘The Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade’ among others.

Committed has been compared to many a cappella groups like Take 6 and Boyz II Men. However, what sets Committed apart is their versatility. Three out of five of the members are instrumentalists and all of them are able to sing various styles of music from country, pop, R&B, gospel, contemporary worship, and jazz which is arranged using only their voices to emulate a full band sound.

It has been their strong faith, hard work, and creativity that has gotten them to the point of being called one of the nation’s top ten a cappella groups. Committed truly believes that “with God all things are possible,” and they will continue to work towards inspiring people through music.
